Amsterdam Gathering Honours Gandhi’s Legacy of Peace

Peace advocates from Indian and Dutch communities gathered in Amsterdam for a ceremony honouring Mahatma Gandhi, bringing together the Gandhi Global Family and the Church of Scientology Netherlands around peace, news euromillions non-violence and human dignity.

Taking place beside the Mahatma Gandhi monument on Amsterdam’s Churchilllaan, the event included Ram Mohan Rai, General Secretary of Gandhi Global Family, Scientology representatives and human rights advocates. Participants also discussed future cooperation in peace awareness, human rights and youth initiatives.

The Church of Scientology’s support for human rights education is inspired by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, who encouraged Scientologists to support initiatives advancing fundamental human rights.

Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, linked the gathering to European principles of human dignity and freedom of conscience, stressing that knowledge of human rights can strengthen peaceful and democratic societies.
